Lahore Gymkhana club was formed in 1st May 1878 with the objective of providing social and intellectual recreation to the residents of Lahore and Lahore Cantonment. The Club is spread over an area of 117.03 acres on the land leased from Punjab Government.

There are multiple facilities which the members can avail. These can be categorized into sports, leisure, parties/events etc. The club has an existing member ship of above five thousand.

Gymkhana Club was established even before the division of Subcontinent into two parts in 1947. After independence its control came in the hands of local people and is now run by a committee of members that is elected through the election process. It was the first of its type in Pakistan and later opened its branches in Karachi and Gawader as well.

@Hamzah, membership fee of Lahore Gymkhana Club is around 5~7 Lac and its for life time. But getting membership is not that easy these days for LGC as you need to be recommended by 2 existing members, need some good family and political background and then you have to wait in a queue. Instead, if you are planning to enjoy some club facilities then Oasis Club could be a choice as its membership fee is around 3 lac and criteria is not very tough.
